How to fit coffee around a Dubai Opera show
Most of the stress on an Opera night is logistics, not coffee. Work through these five steps in order and the coffee part takes care of itself.
- Check how your tickets work. Print-at-home and mobile tickets are valid at the door. If you need to collect, the Box Office in Opera Plaza is open 11 AM to 8 PM daily.
- Settle parking or drop-off. Downtown traffic can be heavy, so decide this before anything else (details in the next section).
- Open live directions to MRJADE. Use the Google Business pin from where you’ll actually be standing, not a landmark guess.
- Choose dine-in or takeaway. If there’s time, sit down. If not, take it with you.
- After the show, check our closing time. We close at 11 PM from Sunday to Thursday and at midnight on Friday and Saturday.
| Your situation | What to do | Order here |
|---|---|---|
| Before an evening show | Sort parking or drop-off first, then coffee. Leave a margin for Downtown traffic and venue entry. | Espresso, Americano or flat white |
| Before a matinee | Use the café as the meeting point, then walk over together. | Latte, cappuccino or Spanish latte |
| Collecting tickets | Box Office first (Opera Plaza, 11 AM – 8 PM daily), coffee second. | Cold Brew or Iced Macchiato when it’s hot |
| After the show | Compare your finish time with our closing time before you head over. | Iced Matcha Latte or an iced fruit tea |
| Meeting friends first | Send the Google Business pin, not “coffee on the Boulevard”. | One menu covers coffee, matcha and fruit tea |

Dubai Opera, the Opera District and where we sit
Dubai Opera is a 2,000-seat, multi-format performing arts centre in The Opera District of Downtown Dubai. Emaar developed it, and it opened on 31 August 2016 with a performance by Plácido Domingo. Its design is inspired by the dhow, and it hosts opera, ballet, theatre, concerts and comedy. You can find the season and tickets on Dubai Opera’s website.
Burj Crown, where MRJADE is, is a 44-storey Emaar tower that Emaar announced in 2020 as a new tower in the Opera District, with direct views of Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa. Emaar also lists both, along with The Dubai Mall, the Dubai Fountains and Burj Park, as within walking distance.
A note on the street name. Emaar Boulevard was the original name of the 3.5 km road around Downtown Dubai. It was renamed Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard in December 2012, but plenty of people still say Emaar Boulevard, and so do we.
One café, four kinds of Opera days.
Dubai Opera fills Downtown with very different plans: evening performances, matinees, concerts and business events. We built the café to flex around them.
Before an evening show
Get the coffee sorted early, then join the crowd. An espresso or flat white to go keeps it quick.
After a matinee
If the performance ends while Downtown is still busy, a matcha or iced coffee is an easy stop before the Mall, the Fountain or home.
Meeting before an event
When people arrive from different parts of Dubai, one pinned café beats “meet at the entrance”.
Late weekends
We stay open until midnight on Friday and Saturday, so a post-show drink is realistic when your show finishes on time.
